High in the Yorkshire Dales, the legendary Tan Hill Inn has been serving up hearty food and warm Yorkshire hospitality for generations. Now, for the very first time, we’re bringing a taste of Tan Hill to the North East with Tan Hill Inn Pub Grub, new at STACK St James’ in Newcastle.

Tan Hill Inn Pub Grub

We’ve taken the food we’re famous for and given it a new home, from our mighty Yorkshire puddings, now stuffed and wrapped, to proper homemade pies, handcrafted by Tan Hill chefs using locally sourced Yorkshire ingredients and pastry recipes perfected over time.

And then there’s pudding. You might know and love a classic apple crumble, but have you ever tried warm spiced apple wrapped in a Yorkshire pudding? Thought not, but it’s time to give it a go. 

This is proper Yorkshire pub grub, inspired by the original Tan Hill, made for Newcastle and served with a little bit of Tan Hill character.

Perched high in the wild and beautiful Yorkshire Dales, sits the iconic Tan Hill Inn, Britain's highest pub.

Famous for its breathtaking views, roaring fires and traditional Yorkshire cooking, we’ve become a destination for walkers, adventurers and food lovers alike.

Standing proudly at 1,732 feet above sea level and surrounded by miles of wild Yorkshire moorland, Tan Hill is a place shaped by its surroundings, its history and the people who have passed through its doors. For generations, travellers have arrived in search of a warm welcome, hearty home-cooked food and a pint by the fire, with many choosing to stay a little longer in one of our 12 rooms or glamping pods. Motorhomes park up outside, while guests spend the night beneath a blanket of stars, far from the glow of city lights and surrounded by the quiet of the Dales. 

Tan Hill Inn is a little piece of Yorkshire that has been shaped over generations, and now we’re bringing that same warmth, character and love of proper food to Newcastle.
